Drawing: Violet

Sometimes an idea comes around, the pen starts to move across the paper and then reality kicks in, time to let that one go. This is the back of Violet. She started with a different kind of face, different shaped hair, different decoration. I just didn’t FEEL it so I turned the paper over and voila, Violet came to life on the second try.

This is Faye by Alison Hughes. She caught my eye a while back, as a wonderful quilt to hang on our wall. She has lots of other women in her collection, but Faye needed a sister:) Violet was meant to be.

Violet in theory:)

The lined lips:)

Thanks so much Tiffany. I used to think I had no “style” or substance to my drawings. Now I am, for lack of a better term, in love with my lines and the images that come to life with them.
