The Postman Always Rings Twice

Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange saturate the screen with dripping sensuality and intuitive portrayal of two of the most distinct characters I’ve ever seen in a film. This classic love triangle/ twisting drama tells the old tale of being trapped in a life you do not want, being lost and unsure about life and the future, feeling uncontrollable lust and undeniable desperation all coming together to create a feast for us movie lovers. I love the story. The acting is fine tuned and the style of directing really really brings this up to the level of masterpiece filmmaking.

Characters who are driven by confusion often are the most interesting. The essence of a character who cannot seem to get control of who they are or what their life should be just crawls out of a skilled actor and shows itself for what it is. A living breathing person has been created by words on paper and interpretation by the director and actors in harmony. It’s like being able to see sadness, depression, dissatisfaction and selfishness come to life. You can tell I loved this film..

I would highly recommend it.

You find sympathy and understanding for characters you know in your heart are not to be trusted or sympathized with. The cutting, in your face story line turns and bumps keep it a constant thriller.

I would even go so far as to say it is a must have on DVD.
